If each side is 6 m, enter 6 in side-length mode. The area is 36 m² and the perimeter is 24 m. Measure both directions to check the patio really is square.
Can I calculate area from a corner-to-corner measurement?
Yes. Select Diagonal. A diagonal of 10 m gives an area of 50 m² because area = diagonal² ÷ 2. The diagonal must join opposite corners.
How can this help estimate the number of square tiles?
