THE PROJECT

Different content types.
One publishing environment.

In 2011, the work covered CMS and database development for the GoPetPlan website, undertaken through another agency.

The surviving 41-page content-management guide documents an environment for maintaining pages, imagery, promotional content, editorial archives and specialist website modules.

The original website is no longer live. This case study records the development contribution and the workflows described in that guide.

THE EDITOR’S WORKFLOW

Edit in context.
Review before publishing.

The guide describes moving from the CMS into a website editing view, enabling editing, locking a page and opening individual content modules in a rich-text editor.

It also documents a separate approval step for making page changes live, alongside category, navigation and page-management tasks.

These workflows gave editors ways to work on individual content elements as well as the overall page structure.

DOCUMENTED CMS CAPABILITIES

Beyond basic page editing.

Pages and publishing

Category and page creation, in-context module editing, page locking and an approval workflow for publication.

Media and promotional content

Image and video uploads, homepage banners, navigation icons, section headers and supporting promotional panels.

Structured comparison content

Maintain company entries, comparison questions and associated answers, including yes, no and unclear classifications.

Condition-checker content

Maintain breed-related content, pet imagery and editable messages used by the website’s condition-checker area.

Forms and people

Create forms, configure fields, preview and reorder them, and maintain different types of people profiles.

Editorial content and moderation

Manage blog posts, press and newsletter archives, testimonial content and user comments that require approval before display.

Supporting the content around the product.

The guide also documents URL redirects for mapping old pages to new destinations, together with configurable footer and site messaging.

The breadth lies in the relationships between different kinds of content and the tools used to maintain them. This is distinct from a simple brochure website with a small set of editable pages.

A clearly defined contribution.

This case study covers CMS and database development through another agency. It does not attribute the visual design, insurance underwriting, policy administration or quote calculations to Abaca Digital.

The original guide and internal screenshots are not published here. Documented features are described as historical functionality, not current services.
